Meet Dr. Smith
Dr. Jacob Roger Smith was raised in the Hammond area and is a proud graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas High School and Southeastern Louisiana University. He received his dental education at LSU School of Dentistry. A dentist’s education is never complete, and Dr. Smith takes this very seriously. He has taken numerous continuing education courses in topics such as dental sleep appliance therapy for snoring and nighttime teeth grinding, digital dentistry for added convenience when treating cavities, treating periodontal disease and how it affects the health of your whole body, using lasers to treat oral problems, and jaw joint disorders and pain relief. Dr. Smith is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Louisiana Dental Association, and the Northlake District Dental Association.
In his time away from the office, Dr. Smith enjoys spending time with his husband, Hunter, and their dogs, Sugar and Dewey. Dr. Smith enjoys home gardening, attending fitness classes, playing video games, attending concerts for many of his favorite music acts, and traveling to new and exciting places. He stays involved with the community by being a sponsor of the Amite Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Southeastern Louisiana University Alumni Association GOLD Council encouraging alumni to give back to their learning institution.
